More Pics from the Past!

I haven't had a chance to post in a while- as always busy, busy, busy! Speaking of old photos, here's a few more!

This was snapped when Mike and I shared an office at Hanna-Barbara back in the mid 1990's. Here Mike pitches our latest cartoon -if I recall right a project called "Wild and Wolly"- to Family Guy creator, Seth McFarlane.

Me at my animation desk at Hanna-Barbara studios working with Mike on our film "Ignoramooses" (1995). Tech note: I had an Apple Macintosh 8500/120, hooked up to a T1 line, with an external magneto-optical drive complimenting my animation table setup... whoo hoo! At the time, a screaming fast computer. Today? Barely worthy of service as a doorstop.

Mike and I have always been into recording music, even if we weren't very good at it. We recorded our first tune together in 1987- and used the recording in the soundtrack of our very first animated effort, a short film called "The Hole Thing" (1987).

This photo was taken at Mike's house in Reseda, California sometime in 1994- we were recording the theme song for a project called 'T-Bone the Bullbarian', later to become Ribeye. I'm sure Mike's girlfriend (now wife) really appreciated us using her pots and pans as a drum set!

A few old pics from the past!

A Blast from the Past!

Check out Harry! Man, is he young! This was taken at Sierra Online in Oakhurst, Ca.
"The Gateway to Yosemite". Harry is filming an animation scene.

Harry as a suave and debonair young man. That is one LOUD shirt tho' dude! I believe this was taken at art school in Dover, N.J.

Here's me with some standies of The Ignoramooses at Hanna-Barbera circa 1995. This guy named Richard would cut them out of foam-core by ahnd with an exacto blade and give them depth by separating the front arms from the further away arm and layering levels of foam core to give it a "3D" quality. Very cool! I still have these, although the antlers have fallen off.

Here's a home-made Milo-McLaughlin standie of Planetary Pig aqnd Cosmo the cat. We made this for a pitch to Nickelodeon somewhere around 1994 or so. We were so gung-ho back then. For this one pitch we actually made t-shirts and hats for the pitch and wore them like the young fools that we were to the meeting! We never sold Planetary Pig but you can see some animation from those days here.

Busy as a bee!

I don't know really why people say that phrase "busy as a bee" but I guess it's the erratic way a bee moves about. Harry and I are in that sort of flight pattern right now. Busy, busy, busy!

It's been unusually chilly here in L.A. since Harry's last post and right now it's cold and grey. Very odd for this time of year here.

Harry has resumed his job at Fox and I am busy animating the PBS series Jay-Jay the Jetplane for 3DBob Productions and Porchlight Entertainment.
When I say I am animating, I mean I am the only one who's on the project. It's kinda nice and I am learning a lot about 3D which is the medium Jay Jay is animated in.
In toher news we may get the cahnce to revive an old Zaptoons character which would be great. Can't really talk about it yet in detail as we don't want to jinx it but it could mean some serious exposure for Harry and I.
Lastly Harry is writing away and should be done with his latest book Badhat soon!
I've read it and I can tell you it's great!

That's about it for now!
