Almost Hot Off the Canadian Presses...

Recently, Mike and I drew a "Bunny Brothers" story for a comic book entitled "Hot Mexican Love". The book features comic stories and artwork by many animation professionals. Even as I type, this south-of-the-border masterwork is thundering through a press somewhere north-of-the-border in Canada.

According to Ira Sherak, the book's editor:

"For those who don't know, the book shall be 'Perfect bound' (meaning with a spine so it looks nice on your bookshelf) with a decent paper quality (not
newsprint) and just before the years end was EXPANDED to a whopping 56 pages. All this for a cover price of $5! Ay Carumba!"

Sounds good! As soon as the book is available, I'll post the details of where/when/how you can get yourself a copy.

Trying Times

Well, it's been a very busy time. My work at Fox Television Animation has been keeping me on a tight schedule since the new year began. Finally things are letting up a bit.

I've been writing new chapters of several book projects I'm working on, as well as delving into more comic book work- specifically sorting through and readying for publication the (literally) thousands of pages Mike and I produced of various comic book creations of our own. Eventually, we want to re-release these comics, but preparing the art correctly for modern publishing is tough work. For the longest time we didn't really know what the heck we were doing! (Not that we do now either!)

From the completely useless triva files:- Mike and I used to covertly 'publish' issues of a comic magazine called "Zaptoon Tales" using the office photo copiers where Mike worked as our 'printing press'. We then hawked the issues hot off the press on the streets of New York City, and later at the San Diego comic con. Ahh, those were the days.

Mike has been really busy with various gigs. He's also been creating and pitching a cartoon short around town, and his work and effort have paid off once again! He sold a new cartoon to Nickelodeon! A big congrats goes out to Mike- the hardest working guy in the animation business! This represents the 8th or 9th project Mike has sold to major studios over the years, including a few works we both created. Proof positive that true talent doesn't always go un-rewarded in this industry!

Be sure to stop by Milowerx.com and check out more details of Mike's ongoing projects as they develop.

Harry and I are collaborating on a new book so look for more details with that shortly!
